Kabel.Consult.Ing erhält den „German Innovation Award 2018“

Unser Antriebssystem „Energy-light“ ist am 6. Juni 2018 vom Rat für Formgebung mit dem „German Innovation Award 2018“ ausgezeichnet worden. Der zum ersten Mal ausgeschriebene Award prämiert branchenübergreifend Produkte und Lösungen, die sich vor allem durch Nutzerzentrierung und einen Mehrwert gegenüber bisherigen Lösungen unterscheiden.

Zum ersten Mal wurden am 6. Juni 2018 im Rahmen einer feierlichen Gala im Deutschen Technikmuseum in Berlin die Preisträger des „German Innovation Award“ geehrt. Mehr als 250 geladene Gäste aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Medien folgten der exklusiven Einladung. Innovationen, die Zukunft gestalten und das Leben verbessern, gibt es in allen Branchen. Manchmal sieht man sie auf den ersten Blick – oftmals aber auch nicht. Der vom Rat für Formgebung neu geschaffene Wettbewerb soll künftig exzellente Leistungen für ein breites Publikum sichtbar machen und bei der Positionierung am Markt unterstützen. Er wird in zwei Wettbewerbsklassen vergeben: „Excellence in Business to Consumer“ sowie „Excellence in Business to Business“. Zusätzlich werden in einer übergeordneten Kategorie „Design Thinking“ Projekte ausgezeichnet, die sich auf ihrem Weg zur Innovation agiler Innovationsmethoden wie Design Thinking, Scrum, Lean Start-Up oder Sprint bedient haben.

Patentinhaber Juan Carlos González Villar nahm bei der feierlichen Abendveranstaltung in Berlin die Auszeichnung - in der Kategorie „Energy Solutions“ - entgegen. „Der German Innovation Award ist ein Wettbewerb, an dem nur Unternehmen teilnehmen, die durch ein Expertengremium nominiert wurden. Allein die Nominierung und nun die Auszeichnung sind eine großartige Bestätigung unserer Arbeit und zugleich große Motivation auch in Zukunft als Innovationstreiber voranzugehen“, so Juan Carlos González Villar.

Initiator des „German Innovation Award“

Der Initiator des Wettbewerbs - der Rat für Formgebung – wurde vom Deutschen Bundestag ins Leben gerufen und von der deutschen Industrie gestiftet und setzt sich als unabhängige und international agierende Institution für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen ein. Seit 1953 zeichnen die Wettbewerbe Design-, Marken- und Innovationsleistungen von internationalem Rang aus. Dem Stifterkreis gehören aktuell über 290 in- und ausländische Unternehmen an, die mehr als zwei Millionen Mitarbeiter beschäftigen. Die Nominierung des Innovationspreises wird von einer unabhängigen und hochkarätigen Jury aus Industrie, Wissenschaft, Institutionen und Finanzwirtschaft durgeführt, dieses Verfahren sorgt für die Unabhängigkeit und Exzellenz des Awards. Die Bewertung der Einreichungen erfolgt nach den Kriterien Innovationshöhe, Anwendernutzen und Wirtschaftlichkeit. Die Innovationsstrategie sollte Aspekte wie soziale, ökologische, ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit und den Energie- und Ressourceneinsatz berücksichtigen. Neben Kriterien wie u.a. Funktionalität, Wirtschaftlichkeit und Qualität werden Anwendernutzen und Zukunftsfähigkeit der Innovationen bewertet. Dabei stets im Fokus: der Mehrwert der einzelnen Nutzer.

Antriebssystem „Energy-light“

Mit patentierter Antriebstechnologie, moderner Steuer- und Regelungstechnik und Leichtbau durch Faserverbundtechnik optimiert das Antriebssystem „Energy-light“ die Energieeffizienz einer Anwendung signifikant: Es minimiert dabei die Antriebsleistung im Dauerbetrieb, beim Beschleunigen, Verzögern und Abbremsen, maximiert respektive Generatorleistung und standardisiert das Antriebssystem zu einer komplexen Gesamtanwendung. Ursprünglich für Wickelmaschinen für Hochspannungskabeln entwickelt, ist das Prinzip des Antriebssystems „Energy-light“ in fast jeder anderen Anwendung einsetzbar, auch in Elektrofahrzeugen.

Kabel.Consult.Ing receives the 2018 German Innovation Award

Our “Energy-light” drive system has been awarded (on June 6, 2018) the German Innovation Award for 2018 by the German Design Council. This makes Kabel.Consult.Ing the first recipient of the award, which recognizes products and solutions from multiple industries. Recipients are distinguished primarily by their user orientation and greater benefits over existing options.

The recipients were honored on June 6, 2018 during the German Museum of Technology's gala event in Berlin. More than 250 invited guests from business, politics, and the media were in attendance. Every industry has innovations that help shape the future and improve our everyday lives. Sometimes their innovation is immediately recognizable, but often more time is needed to appreciate their value. The new competition was created by the German Design Council in order to raise public awareness of outstanding innovations and support their positioning in the market. It is granted in two categories: Excellence in Business to Consumer and Excellence in Business to Business. In addition, the umbrella category Design Thinking recognizes projects that have used agile methods such as Design Thinking, Scrum, Lean Start-Up, or Sprint in pursuit of new innovations.

Patent holder Juan Carlos González Villar accepted the award in the Energy Solutions category during the evening ceremony in Berlin. “The German Innovation Award is a competition in which only companies that have been nominated by an expert committee may participate. Simply being nominated for this award is a special acknowledgment of our work and encourages us to continue pushing the boundaries in the future,” according to Mr. Villar.

Initiator of the German Innovation Award

The initiator of the competition - the Design Council - was established by the German Bundestag and is sponsored by industrial firms. It serves as an independent and international institution that is committed to advancing the competitiveness of companies. These competitions have been recognizing accomplishments in design, branding, and innovation at the international level since 1953. The sponsors currently include more than 290 domestic and foreign companies that together employ more than two million people. Candidates for the Innovation Award are nominated by an independent jury of high-ranking persons from industry, science, institutions, and finance, ensuring the award's independence and excellence. Submissions are evaluated according to their level of innovation, user benefits, and economic viability. The innovation strategy must consider things like social, ecological, and economic sustainability; and the use of energy and other resources. In addition to criteria like func-tionality, efficiency, and quality, the innovations are evaluated according to their user benefits and future viability. However the focus is always on increased value for individual users.

The “Energy-light” drive system
The “Energy-light” drive system significantly improves the energy efficiency of an application through the use of patented motor technology, cutting-edge process and control methods, and lightweight construction with composite fiber materials. It minimizes drive output during continuous operation, during acceleration, delays, and braking; maximizes corresponding generator output; and standardizes the drive system to become a complex total application. Originally developed for machines that wind high-voltage cables, the principle behind “Energy-light” can be used in numerous other applications as well, including electric vehicles.
